There are moments in life where something suddenly stops being an idea and becomes real.
For me, that moment was the BRIKT launch day.
After months of planning, designing, building systems, collecting LEGO® sets, speaking to sponsors, connecting charities, creating the website, and wondering if this idea in my head would actually work… the doors finally opened.
And honestly?
I was nervous.
BRIKT has never just been about building LEGO® sets.
It has always been about people.
Creating a space where people can sit down, relax, switch off from the outside world for a while, and simply build together.
No pressure.
No expectations.
Just connection through creativity.
Walking into the venue before everyone arrived felt surreal. Seeing the sets laid out, the signs up, the tables ready, and the donation trackers displayed made everything suddenly feel very real.
Then people started arriving.
And something amazing happened.
The room came alive.
People who had never met before were chatting across tables.
Parents and children were building together.
People were laughing, concentrating, helping each other, and proudly showing off their progress.
Exactly what I had imagined BRIKT could become.
But seeing it actually happen in front of me was something completely different.
One of my favourite moments was simply stepping back for a few seconds and looking around the room. Seeing people completely immersed in their builds while conversations naturally flowed around them quietly confirmed something I had hoped from the very beginning:
This works.
Not because of the LEGO® itself.
But because building gives people a reason to slow down and connect.
The support from everyone who attended honestly meant the world to me.
Thank you to every single person who came along, supported the idea, booked a place, shared posts, donated sets, sponsored builds, or simply believed in what BRIKT is trying to create.
A huge thank you also goes to [Training In Partnership](https://traininginpartnership.co.uk?utm_source=chatgpt.com) for allowing BRIKT to use their amazing space for the launch event. The support and encouragement has been incredible.
This launch was only the beginning.
There is still so much to build.
More sets.
More events.
More charities supported.
More people connected through creativity.
But for the first time, BRIKT no longer feels like just an idea in my head.
It feels real.
And that feeling is something I don’t think I’ll ever forget 💙🧡💛
