Mother’s Day at LEGOLAND®

This Mother’s Day is going to be a little different for me.

My son Trevor has decided that we are going on a trip to LEGOLAND®, which honestly feels like the perfect way to spend the day.

LEGO® has always been a big part of my life. From building with my brothers when I was younger, to raising Trevor on DUPLO® and now LEGO®, it has always been something that brings imagination, creativity and happiness into our home.

This trip will also be different in another way.

Since being diagnosed with Parkinson’s and now being registered as disabled, days out require a little more planning than they once did. Some of my symptoms have become more challenging over the past couple of years, and access to toilets is something I now have to think about whenever I go somewhere.

But that is not going to stop us.

If anything, it makes the trip feel even more special.

I absolutely love LEGOLAND®, especially Miniland, where entire cities and landmarks are built from LEGO®. I could stand there for ages looking at all the tiny details and clever builds.

And of course, no trip would be complete without visiting the LEGO® shop. I suspect we may come home with a set or two. Or maybe three.

More than anything though, I am just looking forward to spending the day with Trevor, doing something we have always loved together.

Sometimes the best memories are built one brick at a time.
